About
I believe the first I ever heard of rabbits was hearing about Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail when I was an infant in the 1960’s. I also remember the lore of reading about Peter Rabbit’s daring escapades in the garden during his youth.
Then later, in the late 70’s early 80’s when I was in school, we got our first litter of four domestic rabbits. We learned to care for them and fed them everything from dandelion leaves from a nearby field and from our front yard. Eventually, my Uncle Darrel came along and prepared the rabbits for a family meal.
Now, I live on the top of a small mountain in Tennesee where we have had domestic rabbits for a bit. Eventually, they had us and escaped and roamed the backwoods until nature took its course and finished them off.
I’m building this site in memory of all of these wonderful experiences and as a way to frame my studies for all these backyard bunnies.
I’ve always liked the backyard bunnies and our backyard chickens, but I favor the bunnies because they aren’t loud like backyard chickens can be. They don’t interrupt my zoom meetings and tend to just hop around eating grass.
In any case, I hope you enjoy my public collection of online bunny research and investigation.
